Cancellation Policy                                                                        

We endeavour to promote fairness to the consumer and therefore we have now instituted the following cancellation policy    :

Should the consumer cancel a reservation or booking:

More than two months from anticipated date of arrival, there will be no cancellation penalty however an administrative fee of 10 % of the anticipated revenue will be levied against the client.

Between 2 months and 1 month prior to the arrival date 50% of the anticipated revenue will be charged as a cancellation fee

Between 1 month and 7 days prior to the arrival date 75% of the anticipated revenue will be charged as a cancellation fee

Between 7 days and the date of arrival date 100% of the anticipated revenue will be charged as a cancellation fee

This is subject to the exceptions contained in the Consumer Protection Act

  • No refunds for late arrivals or early departures
  • Deposits are payable within 24 hours from Quotation issued, otherwise no reservation will be valid


House Rules:

LOSSES:  We as Mercoledi cannot be held responsible for any losses or injuries, although we have and will do our best to ensure the safety of you and your possessions where possible.

NOISE: No loud noise will be allowed after 22h00, as the privacy off other guest must be taken in consideration

GATES:  Please lock the main door if you come in or go out after 19h00. Please keep the wooden door at the entrance closed at all times. THIS IS FOR YOUR AND OUR SAFETY. Please consider other guest when parking. Keep in the designated parking area.

POOL: The pool is there for everyone to enjoy. The use of the pool is at own risk.

Children under 8 may only use the pool under the supervision of their parents. Please keep the gates of the pool closed.

No Glasses or Bottles are aloud at the pool area. Please refrain from rough playing in the pool (Jumping and Diving not permitted).

No Swimming after 22h00. Please keep noise levels down to consider other Guests privacy

DEPARTURE:  the unit must be vacated by 10h00 on day of departure.

DEPOSIT: The Key deposit will be refunded within 48 hours of departure into your bank account, if everything is in order with the unit after inspection

BRAAI: The braais around the Units is available to everyone and no charcoals or other braai stuff is allowed in the Units.

ARRIVALS: The Units can only be occupied after 14h00 on day of arrival.

CLEANING of UNITS: Your unit will be serviced on weekdays only. BUT NOT ON Saturdays,  Sundays and Public Holidays.

Please don’t give our staff any extra work. They have specific instructions.

LAUNDRY: No Laundry washing is allowed in the Units

All other laundry should be done next door at the Launderette (just around the corner in Scott street).

Our staff are not allowed to do ironing, but an iron is  in the unit for your use. No laundry should be done in the baths or washing basins inside the Units

SMOKING: Here the rules are very strict on smoking inside the Units and by LAW NOT PERMITTED provided on the outside

You may smoke on the veranda, decks or outside. There are ash trays provided on the tables. You will forfeit your breakage deposit for smoking inside the Unit

Please don’t use the drains for cigarette butts.

TV: The TV and remotes must not be handled by children. You will receive everything in working order.

If attention has to be given to TV, remotes and DSTV, a charge of R350 will be applicable. 

MONKEYS: Do not feed the monkeys and be aware that they will come into your Unit if the windows and doors are left open.

Please stay clear of the monkeys as they can cause bodily harm.

LINEN: Linen is changed after 4 days of use. If you need urgent linen changes please inform us

TOWELS: Towels, bathmats and dish cloths are changed every 2nd day except on weekends.

VISITORS: Please note that no addition guests or visitors are allowed

GATE REMOTES: Any loss of the remotes will be for your account to the value of R200.

INSPECTIONS: Random inspections can be done

ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES AND LIGHTS: Make sure everything is switched off when leaving the Unit. Any breakages are for your account

PETS: No pets whatsoever will be allowed.





Guest/s attend Mercoledi at their own risk.

Mercoledi, his agents and/or its employee/s shall not be liable for, and the quests hereby waives and abandons any claims of whatever nature including but not limited to that for theft, injury, loss or damage of whatever nature, against  Mercoledi whether arising from Mercoledi’s default, negligence or otherwise.

The guest/s, in addition to the aforesaid, hereby indemnify Mercoledi against any claims, which may arise from whatever nature, whether arising  from Mercoledi’s default, negligence or otherwise.

Mercoledi’s insurance will also not cover any theft, injury, loss or damages, which might occur to the Guest/s while on the premises
